PremieRing #2: Letterbombs - Mansuit (from the up-coming Demersal/Piet Onthel/Letterbombs/Vientre Split Tape)

About four years ago I was asked to participate in a four blog premiere, where each blog shared a song from a four-way split LP that featured Massa Nera, Thisismenotthinkingofyou, Yo Sbraito and Ef'il (released via ZBR amongst other labels). It was called the PremieRing. Now I'm super happy to be involved in PremieRing #2, alongside Miss The Stars, Idioteq and Open Mind Saturated Brain.

Once again, we're promoting a four-way split (this time on tape) that's being released by ZBR's sister label Tomb Tree, alongside UK label Witch Elm Records. As with previous splits, it contains bands from different corners of the globe in the form of Demersal (Denmark), Piet Onthel (Malaysia), Letterbombs (Finland) and Vientre (Colombia). It is my great pleasure to be able to share the song 'Mansuit' by Letterbombs. Here's a quick snippet of what they had to say about this one:-

'Lyrically the track is mostly quotes from Donnie Darko (2001). Musically we wanted to try something a bit different. Something more straight forward with some twist and turns here and there.'

All four of the bands involved in this split have been super active recently, but if you've missed any of their previous releases for any reason then this one is the perfect place to start! If you love screamo and emo-violence, you'll love this.

Today is the release day for the debut four-track EP from new UK screamo/post-hardcore band Chime Hours. It's being released on tape via UK label Witch Elm Records and Canadian label Tomb Tree Tapes. I'm honoured to be able to bring you a special stream of the full EP to help celebrate it's release.

Chime Hours are described as being for fans of: Massa Nera, Voyage In Coma and Shizune. If that's whetted your appetite, listen to the EP stream below right away:-

It's great to see a new UK band coming through with this kind of sound, as well as the cooperation between both labels, making this release happen. The Tomb Tree Tapes pressing is limited to 50 tapes with 18 on blue swirl, 15 on mint swirl, 12 on orange swirl (all pictured below) and 5 test dips.

Today is launch day for this new awesome split release and I’m thrilled to be able to help share it with you! It features four dark, chaotic, heavy screamo songs; two come from UK band Komarov (featuring (ex)-members of Thisismenotthinkingofyou, Cady, Solanas and Yuri) and the other two are from US/Canadian band Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow (made up of (ex)-members from Old Soul, Cloud Rat, Apostles Of Eris, In Wolves Clothing and Swallows Nest).

The split is being released on 7” vinyl by Clever Eagle Records (USA), Fresh Outbreak Records (Italy), Witch Elm Records (UK) and Zegema Beach Records (CAN/USA). 340 copies have been pressed with 315 of those coming on random coloured vinyl with a further 25 exclusive Wax Mage copies coming directly from Zegema Beach Records. Also, as a sweetener for those ordering from ZBR, one random coloured copy will be swapped for a Wax Mage copy in the store, just for a bit of added fun and intrigue!
